FH agrees that the amount prepaid plus any interest will be credited to the balance due.
However, the cost of the funeral will be current pricing at the time of death.
Apprenticeship License
1. Must be registered with the SBOFS
2. Serve 3,120 hours in no less that 18 months
3. Regular business hours: 8am-10pm
4. Case/Hour reports should be submitted to the SBOFS every six months.
5. Apprenticeship must be served under a board approved supervising FD/Emb
6. Apprenticeship must be served at a board approved establishment.
How long must a preceptor be licensed before taking on an apprentice?

4. Graduated from an accredited Mortuary College
5. Must have completed an apprenticeship of 3,120 hours (50 FD cases/50 Emb cases)
6. Pass a comprehensive exam of FD/Emb laws in the state of Georgia.
Establishment License (FH/Crematory)
1. Must be located at a specific street address and have the minimum facilities and
equipment
2. 30-person capacity room used for conducting services.
3. Prep Room that has non-porous, sanitary floor & walls with proper ventilation &
drainage.
4. Supplies and instruments needed for the preparation and embalming of human
remains.
5. Must have a display room containing 8 caskets or mock-ups.
6. Must have one operable motor hearse and one set of church trucks.
