In this task I am required to prepare a report for the manager of Digitech Ltd which explains
the benefits that will be gained from using a specialist accounting package. I will also
compare the benefits of using manual and computerised accounting systems to record
business transactions.
Sage accounting package is a software that can help small businesses to do there accounting
through the computerized network. It is perfect for small businesses, Sage Instant Accounts
makes managing cash flow, VAT, stock, customers and suppliers simple.
What does Sage Accounting do for consumers?
Cash flow: finance software to help keep track of money going in and out of your
business.
VAT: calculate, verify and submit online to HMRC.
Cloud and mobile working: access up to date information wherever you are with Sage
Drive.
Customers: generate professional looking quotes and invoices to win new business.
Suppliers: store and find information easily and keep on top of your supplier
payments.
Products & services: store product information, control your stock and analyse sales
trends.
Business insight: a range of reports to help you understand how profitable your
business is.
I personally believe there are many benefits and disadvantages in regards to this
software so I’ll be discussing this:
Cost
When it comes to the cost, the advantage is that money can be saved from printing
because everything can be done via the software and then they can send it through
email which is quicker than posting hardcopies. If the person who receives it wants
the accounts to be in a hardcopy form they can print it by themselves. Even though
some people may think it is very expensive there is a 30 day trial which could be used
in order to see if it’s worth the money and also there are packages that you can pay for
monthly for a small amount. In addition some people won’t need all the accounting
systems on there so they can just pay for one specific one. Which is cost effective
because there would be no point paying for the whole package when you know you’re
not going to use all of the programs.
