INSTRUCTIONS FOR EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE OF
PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT FINAL EXAM
Each student is to make an appointment to demonstrate a complete physical exam
for the designated instructor during times indicated on the physical exam sign up
sheet.
The students are responsible for getting their classmates to serve as clients for the
final physical examination.
The student is expected to set up his/her laboratory exam station and prepare the
client before the exam. The student is responsible for collecting and assembling
all equipment and ensuring that it is in proper working order. Remember that
when setting up, you should be as quiet as possible since others may be finishing
up their exams in the PAL lab.
After gathering equipment, preparing the client and obtaining preliminary
assessment findings (Ht. Wt., BP, TPR) the student should call the instructor in to
observe the exam.
The student is to specify whether he or she prefers that the examiner ask clarifying
questions immediately throughout the exam or save all questions for the end.
Make sure you bring your copy of the PE EVALUATION GUIDE.
