the entire country was placed under Martial Law. When former President Ferdinand E.
Marcos signed Proclamation No. 1180 s. 1973, it signalled the worst repercussions, thus
putting the Philippines into the limelight of the exigence of abuse and cruelty among the
authorities who were supposed to lead the country to achieve peaceful and favourable
conflict resolution.
