Economical In Panama the economy is rising, this is seen in the
BNP of Panama. Since 2000 when the Pennames
earned about $7.770 a year raised to $20.710 in
2015 according to the worldbank. This means that
the purchasing power went up. This is positive for
the MediaMarkt because the people in Panama can
buy more products in the MediaMarkt.
Social-cultural In Panama they speak Spanish, but their Spanish is
different than the Spanish that’s spoken in Spain, it
looks more like the Spanish that’s spoken in Cuba
and Puerto Rico. The difference in Spanish is the
pronunciation, this means that the MediaMarkt
can’t use their Spanish spoken commercials in
Panama, but the Spanish writing is the same so the
product descriptions can be used from the

Technological The internet access in Panama is decent. Within
Panama 3G is available but it isn’t that fast like we
have over here. In Panama Wi-Fi is available but it
again isn’t as fast as we have over here. When
people can’t afford WI-FI or 3G they can go to an
internet café, within an internet café the WI-FI
works properly. A lot of people use internet café’s
especially in Panama this is because internet café’s
are very common in Panama city. What this means
for the MediaMarkt is that they can have an web
shop in Panama, but they need to keep it simple and
easy to load. When doing this people will enter the
site without having to wait for a long time. But if the
MediaMarkt makes the site full of images and
banners the site needs to load for a long time and
the people don’t want to wait for the site to load so
