Producing Nano Composites Materials
Polymer materials are easy to process and possess low dielectric constant compared to ceramic
materials used in many Indian industries, which are brittle and processed at high temperature
Indian industrialists are engaging materials with high dielectric constants with flexibility and
easy to process.
The composite materials, which have micron scale ferroelectric ceramic particles as the filler in
liquid crystal polymer or thermoplastic polymer matrices do not have the required processing
phenomenon. Hence they are not capable enough to form into thin uniform films. So the
importance of Nano composites materials with many materials mixed at nanometre scale is
highlighted for various applications in industrial developmental activities.
Indian market has many commercial Nano particles that can be formed into polymer matrix to
produce polymer Nano composites.
The scientists will choose the right particles to achieve the required penetration of the polymer or
its precursor into the interlayer spacing of the reinforcement. This will produce exfoliated or
intercalated product as needed.
The specialty of Polymer Nano Composites is that it comprises of polymeric material like thermo
sets and thermoplastics elastomers along with reinforcement of nano particles
The Nano experts say that polymer will be incorporated as polymeric species or via the
monomer, which is polymerized to produce corresponding polymer clay nano composites.
The Nano particles, which are preferred by experts, are:
1. Carbon Nano fibbers
2. Nano Silica
