THE GROUP OF FROGS
A group of frogs was travelling through a forest when suddenly two of them fell
into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they said to the
both frogs that there was no hope left for them. However, both the frogs ignored
their comrades and continued the effort to come out of the pit.
Despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of the pit was still saying that
they should give up as they’d never be able to come out of the pit. Eventually, one
of the frogs took heed of what the others were saying and he gave up. He jumped
even deeper and died. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once
again, the group of frogs yelled at him to stop the effort. He ignored them and
jumped harder and finally succeeded in coming out.
When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?” The frog explained
to them he is deaf and he thought they were encouraging him to come out the
entire time.
