SESSION 8
STORY – UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL

A lion lived in a forest. One day he saw three beautiful and healthy
horses grazing together. He heard them talking. They were all happy. The
lion wanted to eat one of the healthy horses, but he knew that he could
not fight with all the three horses at a time. The lion planned to create a
rift among the horses.
One day when the horses were grazing, the lion hid himself behind bush.
One horse was a little away from the other two horses. The lion
whispered, “Hello friend, how are you? Do you know, your friends are
grazing much greener grass whereas, you are left with the dried ones. In
fact they are selfish.”
The lion went away. The result was that this horse became hostile to the
other two horses. Next day, the lion went to another horse, and said the
same thing. The other horse also lost faith in his friends. In the same
manner, the lion made all the three fall out with each other.
Within a few days, all the three horses began grazing separately. One
day the lion killed one horse, and the other two remained unconcerned.
The lion enjoyed horse’s flesh.
After a few days, the lion again attacked the second horse. The third
horse did not come to help his friend and the second horse was also
killed. The same thing happened to the third horse also.
All the three horses were killed easily because of lion’s cunningness.
The message is that we should not trust our enemy. We should trust our
friend and when there is misunderstanding we should talk to them
frankly.
