, ABSTRACT
The purpose of this report is to provide the details of the intuition of attachment, a description of
all the activities undertaken during the same, the lessons learnt and challenges during the
attachment period. The essence of attachment is to put all the theoretical work done in class by a
student into practical exercise.
I was therefore attached at KAKAMEGA TEACHING AND REFERRAL HOSPITAL
for a period of threemonths. The major activities I carried out included
The major job responsibilities of a biomedical engineer include: -
➢ designing equipment, tools, and devices necessary to support biological systems
provide technical support, and connect concepts between biology and engineering.
➢ Biomedical engineers often work in the research industry as they are responsible for the
creation of different equipment that can support and extend the life of an individual.
➢ Designing tools like x-ray machines, computer software, and processes like drug therapies
through conducting experiments with relevant samples or populations.
➢ Biomedical engineers are also tasked with the creation of artificial body parts joints
replacements) to help individuals suffering from diseases or injuries that affect mobility.
➢ Biomedical engineers can also work with medical facilitators to help them in diagnosing a
condition of a patient.
➢ They may help by providing assistance on several laboratory tests
