Factors that determine what Workers are paid

One of the factors that determine what workers are paid in the Australian economy is

technology. Technological advancements have changed the employability of workers in the

economy with most people embracing it while others opposing it (Stanford, 2017). Employers

utilize the opportunity to enhance efficiency thereby making most employees jobless and

powerless to bargain for better pay. Additionally, awards determine what employees are paid. To

determine the minimum pay rates, fines, and allowances that apply to the award (Stanford et al.,

2018). Awards span a wide range of professions and sectors, therefore accuracy is crucial.

Employees are left to settle for the available wage rate when they cannot utilize the technological

platforms available such as the rising use of the internet and mobile phones.

Management and Performance and Pay in Gig Economy

Performance management enables the assessment of an employee's performance in their

line of work with the main goal of raising performance. Performance and pay management in the

gig economy is a stepwise process. It is important to make gig employees develop the feeling of

inclusion by encouraging open discussion (Stanford, 2017). Additionally, employees should be

accorded feedback traffic that enables them to communicate. There should be effective

management in place to supervise their performances and then accord recognition where

necessary to the employees (Stanford, 2017). Moreover, it is critical to understand the styles and
