AT ALL TIMES:
• Aim very high and have very high expectations of yourself.
• Work very hard.
• Be very organised.
IN LESSONS:
• Get to the lesson promptly, make sure your phone is switched off, and
begin the starter assessment straight away.
• Have a file containing the Study Guide and paper.
• Make the most of every lesson – concentrate, work hard and contribute.
OUTSIDE OF LESSONS:
• You must do at least 4 hours of independent study on Law each week.
• Make the most of independent study time during the College day.
• Plan your week’s work. Stick to the plan - get into a routine.
• Set goals and reward yourself when you achieve them.
• Use effective learning strategies during independent study. Examples:
Read the Study Guides and highlight key points.
Make summary mind maps / spider diagrams.
Make cue cards.
Use pictures/images.
Use model answers.
Plan your own answers to past exam questions using mark schemes.
Teach someone else, perhaps a friend or family member.
Test yourself using past exam questions then mark your answers.
Get your teacher to mark extra work that you have done.
Create your own exam questions and answer them.
Attend one to one support with your teachers.
