change?
• Climate change – the gradual increase in
global temperature
• Caused by exploitation of natural
resources by humans
• Has led to a 1.1 degrees Celsius increase
in global temperature since pre-
industrial (1800s) levels.
• Its effects include melting ice sheets,
rising sea levels, more intense and
frequent weather patterns and natural
disasters.
• It is currently affecting 85% of the
world’s population, this percentage will
likely rise to 100% in the coming
decades.
