Unlike animals, plants do not have nervous tissue or muscle tissue however to show
movement and response they use chemical means to transport information from one
cell to another. This is broadly classified into two main types
1. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO STIMULI
It does not involve growth and involves responding to touch. Movement occurs at
a different place from where the touch occurs. Plants communicate that the
touch has occurred:-
Plants pass on information by electrical -chemical in order to convey it from cell
to cell.
Plant cell change their shape by changing the amount of water in their cells. This
happens due to shrinking and swelling of cell.
