RETAIL TRAVEL OPERATIONS
CAR RENTAL
Mileage: number of miles travelled or covered.
Third-party liability: Third-party liability insurance is a type of coverage that
financially protects you if you're considered responsible for damages or
injury to another person or their property.
Collision damage waiver: Collision damage waiver (CDW), also called car
rental insurance, removes a car renter's liability for all or some damage to a
rental vehicle in an accident, similarly to collision insurance. CDW also may
cover instances of theft or vandalism. The renter will normally only have to
pay for a deductible in an accident.
Theft waiver (TW): means cover for theft of the Vehicle which exceeds the
amount of the Customer’s excess. “Damage Administration Fee” means a
fee which is applied where the Vehicle is damaged.
Local Tax: Local taxes come in many forms, from property taxes and payroll
taxes to sales taxes and licensing fees.
Airport Surcharge: A service plus charge / airport surcharge per rental
agreement is levied for rentals at airport locations (in some countries for
rentals at railway stations as well).
Theft Protection: Theft Protection is a type of cover used in car hire. Theft
Protection covers part of the cost for replacing the hire car if it's stolen while
you have it.
Personal Accident Insurance: Personal Accident insurance or PA insurance
is an annual policy which provides compensation in the event of injuries,
disability or death caused solely by violent, accidental, external and visible
events. It is different from life insurance and medical & health insurance.
