BASIC TOOLS
● Screwdrivers are a type of hand tool used for the
insertion and removal of screws. They are available in a
multitude of variations to correspond to the correct screw
drive. The drive or head of a screw has a shaped cavity
and protrusion that fits the screwdriver tip.
● Wrenches are made in various shapes and sizes
and are used for gripping, fastening, turning, tightening
and loosening things like pipes, pipe fittings, nuts and
bolts.
● Pliers, hand-operated tool for holding and
gripping small articles or for bending and cutting wire.
Slip-joint pliers have grooved jaws, and the pivot hole in
one member is elongated so that the member can pivot
in either of two positions in order to grasp objects of
different size in the most effective way.
● A torque wrench is a tool used to control and
apply a specific torque to a fastener such as a bolt or a
nut. It is a fundamental element in general mechanics,
tire changing operations and industrial maintenance &
repair industries, to ensure customers' safety.

● Pneumatic Guns, The earliest forms of nail guns
were based on air pressure utilization only. Apart from
building construction, woodworking and carpentry are
other fields in which these tools are of great advantage.
Pneumatic screw guns are used for fast feeding of
screws for different applications.
● A jack is a mechanical lifting device used to apply
great forces or lift heavy loads. A mechanical jack employs
a screw thread for lifting heavy equipment. A hydraulic jack
uses hydraulic power.
MEASURING TOOL
● Depth gauge is used to measure the depth of holes,
cavities, and other component features. They are available
in various configurations, depending on the specific
application. Depth gauge categories include: Thread depth
gauge measures the depth of the thread surface in a hole.
● A vernier caliper is usually used to measure the
diameter of circular objects. The circular jaws of the
vernier caliper fit perfectly on the circumference of round
objects. Vernier caliper consists of two scales, the main
scale which is fixed, and a moving vernier scale. The
main scale has readings in millimet.

● DIAL GAUGE:Dial gauges are used to measure the flatness and inclination
of objects. It is used to check round bar roundness. It checks the flatness of
an object as compared to the flatness of the standard object. In the
mechanical field, dial gauges are used to check the flatness and alignment
of various jobs and work piece
Working principle of the dial gauge.
Dial gauge bases its operation principle on the displacement reading of a mobile
cylindrical rod that slides inside a tubular guide. The end of the rod, called probe,
is in contact with the surface of the measured object.
