Moderna Essay - BMGT 110: Introduction to Business and Management (GRADED A+)
INTRODUCTION Moderna is a biotech company that uses messenger RNA (mRNA) technology to create drugs. It also creates therapeutics for infectious diseases, heart diseases, and similar others. Stephen Bancel oversees Moderna’s operations as the CEO of the Board of Directors. Moderna’s activities are conducted at its head offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, not far from Harvard or MIT. The following will be identified and analyzed: stakeholders, funding sources, competitive environment, and regulatory environment. BUSINESS AND PURPOSE The main purpose of Moderna is to use the power of mRNA science to create a new, transformative class of medicines. The business focuses on discovering, developing, then commercializing therapeutics and vaccines based on the power of mRNA (Moderna, 2021). This tech platform is used to create therapeutics for diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases, as well as uncommon genetic disorders. Moderna cooperates with other firms to further research in developing medications and vaccines against various diseases. For example, the COVID-19 vaccine, which has been created and released in late 2020, has been widely distributed and used all over the world. Success in cooperation with other firms requires adequate business communication. Even just a small miscommunication can have devastating effects on business performance (UMGC, n.d., Business Communication Defined, para. 3), and in this case, poor execution of therapeutic and/or vaccine development, which can have dangerous effects on patients
