Classwork task:
Does your question or theme suggest artists
/movements/designers to explore? You should try
to research these first to grasp a good idea of what
you want to do for your theme/question.
Use everything that you have at hand-use
books, internet, library to find
artists/designers/newspapers/magazines/leafle
ts/examples of work that you find interesting
and relates to your chosen theme or question.
, Tips: For researching artists and pieces of work, do
use books but if you don’t want to pay a lot for
them you can always try these cheaper methods:
1) Go to your local library to see if they have any
art books and get a library card while you’re there-
it would allow you to borrow more books at a time.
2) Take a trip down to your school’s art department
and ask to borrow some books from there.
3) Borrow some art books from your school’s
library, they should have a wide selection of books
for every and each subject. If you can’t find any on
the shelves, just ask the librarian, they’d be happy
to help.
4) Borrow some art books from friends or family or
ask for some art books to be given to you as a
birthday gift or as a reward for working hard in
school or getting a good grade in a test/report.
5) Buy art books from second-hand shops or
charity shops since buying them new from
bookstores can be really expensive at times-you
never know what you could find in there! It is worth
checking those stores often when you’re just out
and about doing shopping.
