Skills required running my business
Cooking
For me to open a cooking related business I will need an individual to have an interest in cooking.
Therefor this means that they will need a basic knowledge of cooking and have some ideas of how
the food is cooked. For my business, I will be hiring chefs that have relatively high standard
qualifications and this will enable them to be able to cook the chicken to a high standard and well.
My chefs would have to be specialists in the chicken and meat department since that is what my
business is. These will all benefit my business because; I will not need to recruit many chefs to and
expect them to cook chicken well and quickly.
Financial
To keep record of all the finances I will be using a cash flow forecast. This will include the profit and
loss balance sheet. The balance sheet will allow me to have a summary of what my business is worth
in assets and liabilities. This will then enable me to compare the situation of my business annually to
the previous year.
Marketing
For my business to become recognisable I will need to make my target market aware of the foods I
have available and any deals which will be done through advertisement. The type of media I will
choose would be Facebook, Twitter etc. because my business will be local to Aberystwyth this and
the use of posters in the University will be the most effective way for me to advertise my business.
By advertising it means that people will begin to know my business and what is on offer there.
Human resources
It is very important that I make sure that my business recruits candidates that will have a very good
experience so that they will be confident to work in Restaurant. In addition, seeing as my business is
an all you can eat chicken restaurant I must make sure that the people I chooses have a high
standard and professional qualifications.
Operational
I will need to make sure that my business has a website designer so that the public can find out more
information about the business. For me to keep up with what products we have available and sell I
would have a separate drop down menu where people can have a look before the visit the
restaurant so if they decide they don’t like the food available they wouldn’t waste a journey.
Administrative
This refers to the basic understanding of how the business functions and the overall office duties.
We would need to record information such as our supplier’s names and prices. Also, we would need
