Inflammation
When a tendon or a muscle becomes
damaged, a process called
inflammation occurs.
It is the body’s response to tissue
injury caused by pressure, friction,
overload or repeated load and
external trauma.
, Inflammation has five symptoms
associated with it; these are:
Redness, caused by increased blood flow,
(rubor)
Heat, caused by an increase in blood flow
around the injured area, (calor)
Pain and tenderness when the injured
area is touched, (dolor)
Swelling, caused by an accumulation of
fluid around the site of injury, (tumor)
Reduced function of the injured area,
caused by pain and swelling.
