seem most applicable today, and why?
The most applicable concerns about overspecialization that the chapter discusses in the
article is the importance of science and mathematics continues to be uber important in
education, government and business. Science and mathematics are important, but it seems
many professionals are overspecialized in their profession. I believe there would be
benefits to overarching educational and training approach

the humanities, the fine and performing arts, and the applied fields.
The increased emphasis by universities on research in the late nineteenth century
reflected in turn the fact that many of the natural sciences had become economically
useful. Interdisciplinary studies is advancing in the study of natural sciences
3. From your reading, describe the relationship between interdisciplinary and the
disciplines.
Interdisciplinary is a more comprehensive understanding of a problem that’s achieved
through integration of two or more disciplines to create products, solve problems, offer
explanations that are not possible using single disciplinary means. While disciplines on
the other hand is a branch of learning or body of knowledge such as physics, psychology,
or history. Disciplines are singular ways of learning while interdisciplinary takes to or
more disciplines to create a more broad outlook on a situation. With out disciplines there
wouldn’t be interdisciplinary studies.
