RESUME “PRIOR ASSESSMENT”
There are 6 steps that must be taken in providing assistance to emergency clients, namely:
1. Triage
2. Primary Survey
3. Appropriate Secondary Survey and resuscitation
4. Stabilization
5. Transportation
6. definitive stage
TRIAGE
Definition Triage comes from the French word which means "to select".
↓↓
Methods for obtaining the best possible results in conditions of a
large number of patients with limited means .
Patients should be categorized according to their severity.
Basics 1. Degree of injury
2. Number of injured
3. Means and capabilities
4. Chances of survival
Indication 1. ABCDE ( Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability and
exposure )
2. The severity of the injury
3. Number of patients
4. Available health facilities
5. The patient's survival
Classification 1. Emergency or immediate or priority 1 (RED)
This patient should get help with priority first treatment (P1) .
In cases labeled red, it will cause death if you don't get help
within minutes .
Sample case :
a. Severe trauma
b. Acute MCI (acute myocardial infarction)
, c. Respiratory obstruction
d. Tension pneumothorax (medical emergency condition when
air is trapped in the pleural space between the left and right
lungs)
e. Flail chests
f. Hypovolemic shock degrees III – IV
g. Burns with inhalation trauma
2. Urgent or priority 2 (YELLOW)
Sufferers are not critical but emergency or non-emergency.
Patients must get help with priority treatment 2nd (P2). There
will be an increased risk if not treated within a few hours.
Sample case :
a. Spine injury
b. Open fracture
c. Closed head trauma (head injury)
d. Acute burns and appendix
3. Non urgent or priority 3 (GREEN)
The patient is not serious and not an emergency. . This patient
gets priority treatment 3rd (P3) and is unlikely to cause death.
Sample case :
a. abrasions
b. bruises
c. Upper limb fracture
d. Fever
e. Other complaints
4. Dead or Nonsalvageable (BLACK)
longer breathing even though the airway has been cleared .
Areas that are not clear can survive or not though maximum
resuscitation and action has been carried out,
