I am now going to research a few celebrations to help decide on which occasions I might choose as
my celebration.
Easter:
Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating Jesus Christ returning from the dead and Christians believe
that it is the holiest day of the year. Easter eggs and chocolate are often given out to people
during Easter and little children go on Easter egg hunts. Chocolate was first given out as a Pagan
symbol of fertility and spring. Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday that occurs after the first full
moon after the spring equinox. During the springtime new life is often born for example lambs and
flowers often start to blossom. Common Ingredients and foods consumed during the Easter period
are Simnel cake, hot cross buns, lamb.
In this dish they have used Lamb which is a commonly used ingredient around Easter time.
Christians often eat it as a representation of Jesus dying on the cross and it also embodies purity
and goodness. This dish is presented on a plain white plate so it does not distract from the main
event of the food, the addition of the greenery on the plate works well and displays the new life
that can be associated with Easter. The dish shows fine dining with a focus on good flavours,
texture, and presentation.
These little meringue nests are perfect for Easter as they include chocolate eggs which are
commonly eaten at Easter time also, they are in a nest which is good for the theme as they show
the new life that is associated around springtime. The nests are also a good edible size so handy to
eat and suitable or a family celebration.
I like the presentation of this tart as they look neat and suitable for fine dining. The addition of the
shredded chocolate holding the little eggs fits very well with the overall Easter appearance and the
purple flower compliments the tart as it adds colour to the dish as there is a lot of brown and
beige going on, so it makes it stand out.

Hot cross buns that are hung in the kitchen are supposedly meant to protect from evil spirits due
to the blessed cross on the top and said to prevent kitchen fires from breaking out. Another thing
that is said about them is that they ensure that all breads baked that year would turn out perfectly
delicious. There often served at places like afternoon tea during the springtime or even eaten for
breakfasts.
Birthdays:
Birthdays are the annual celebration of the day that you were born. Typically, people celebrate
and give gifts to whoever’s birthday it is showing their appreciation for someone. Birthdays are
celebrated by cultures all over the world and can be more than just a special day of the year.
Birthdays can remind you that you are growing older but also show how far that you have come in
life. Some Birthdays can be more significant than others and how u celebrate can vary depend on
the age. For instance, a kids 10th birthday will have lots of party food like pizza and crisps
compared to someone turning 50 is more likely to have fancier food for example a steak.
Birthday cakes can be traced back to the Ancient Greeks who burned candles as offerings to their
gods and goddesses and baked round honey cakes to symbolise the moon and added candles to
the top as a special way to pay a tribute to the goddess of the moon Artemis. Usually, they are not

birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas has now become both a sacred religious holiday but also a
worldwide cultural and commercial event. There are lots of popular Christmas traditions for
example Santa leaving out stocking to more religious traditions like the nativity scene. Eggnog is a
drink commonly drank at Christmas and children often make things like gingerbread houses. There
are lots of different flavours and foods associated with Christmas and wintertime for example
candy canes, Christmas pudding (which people often set alight with brandy, gingerbread,
cinnamon, peppermint, turkey.
Roast turkey has been commonly eaten on Christmas day since 1573 and the tradition rapidly
spread throughout England in the 17th century it also became quite common the eat goose with
your roast dinner. Roasts are a fantastic way to bring your loved ones together on Christmas and
sit and enjoy a meal all together and celebrate the festivities. The roast is a meal based on
seasonal meats and vegetables.
Trifles are a great dessert to serve at Christmas as you can make individual ones like the first
picture or a huge one to feed the whole family like the second photo. They are easy to customise
the flavours to your preferences and can fit many different occasions. For example, you could do a
Christmas flavoured one by having Christmas pudding as the cake layer or even a chocolate orange
flavoured trifle. I like the Christmas themed decorations and finishing techniques in the picture
above. Trifles are also good as they can be easily prepared the night before so all you need to do is
get it out of the fridge on the big day.
Beef wellingtons are a great dish to serve at fancy dinners or even an elevated Christmas day dish
as its more refined xmas. main course dish. Beef wellingtons have a great combo of decadent
meat, prosciutto, mushrooms all wrapped in perfect puff pastry. They can look great on a plate
with a slice showing off all the different layers. Also, if you are not keen on the beef, you can
similarly make a salmon en croute which is just as tasty and consists of puff pastry béchamel sauce
and spinach with salmon.

Valentine's day is a holiday for lovers to express their affection to each other and commonly do it
through gifts and greetings. Valentine's day can also be known as St. Valentine's Day and is
thought to be originated from a roman festival. Valentine’s day occurs annually on the 14th of
