COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on how to teach writing and a
guide to design approaches, methods, strategies, and techniques appropriate to
students’ needs.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
Upon the completion of the course, you should be able to:
a. Identify major approaches in the teaching of writing;
b. Compare and contrast particular instructional aspects of second language
teaching;
c. Discuss significant indicators of each approach to an ESL classroom.
d. Examine teacher’s roles and responsibilities towards meaningful learning
experiences.
e. Conceptualize the applicability of each technique congruent to the level
and needs of students.
f. Demonstrate practical learning experience that corresponds to the
student-centered approach of teaching writing.
