Learning and Teaching This work-based learning module is organised differently to other modules on your degree programme. In the first seven weeks, workshops and tutorials take palace which support you in the preparation of a portfolio which demonstrates skills development. The workshops will also guide you in the requirements of a period of work-based learning and a mini project. In the remainder of the semester, you are required to undertake and evidence 200 hours of project learning (WBL). It is acknowledged that the work- based/project learning period may bridge the Easter vacation period, and that you may have other commitments in this period. A flexible approach will therefore be adopted. Your work-based learning arrangements must be discussed with your Module Leader/Module Tutor and formally agreed using the documents developed during class-based sessions. A key part of the overall WBL/project activity will be the application for a Project and the proposal and agreement of mini research project topic, to be agreed with your WBL/project organisation. You will be given ample time during the module in which to undertake and complete the research, write it up and present your findings back to your WBL/project organisation. Your allocated tutor will be available for tutorial support (usually by e-mail) in respect of the project and to assist in resolving any unforeseen problems or issues arising from the work-based learning/project. In addition, a university based Employer Engagement Consultant will be available throughout the WBL placement/project to provide non-academic support for your work with the employer. This module is delivered using a blended learning approach with scheduled online and face-to-face sessions (depending on COVID 19 restrictions) over 15 weeks. Most sessions comprise of a face-to-face lecture and an online session. If you are unable to attend a live session due to factors outside your control, you are expected to inform your tutor and engage in this, where possible, before the next scheduled session. To complete the module successfully you must allocate a substantial amount of independent study time, which will include undertaking set activities and carrying out assessment activities. 3. Graduate Attributes Graduate attributes are the personal qualities and skills which the University of Bolton community values, and which a student is expected develop during their time at the University. Graduate attributes act as a point of reference for a student’s personal development and support the articulation of employability and transferable skills. In total there are 10 graduate attributes (GAME). This module seeks to support the development of: Self-awareness, problem solving, effective communication, enterprise. 4.
