-Abduction: Similar to inductive reasoning (forming a concept/theory out of observations), but
basing the theories from the participants’ worldviews rather than just observations

Conducting 10 semi-structured interviews about what newcomers feel about cycling in
Amsterdam
→ How do we analyze interviews?
-Sort them into positive and negative/Data reduction
-Respondent validation
-Flexibility in action (doing further research on concepts that emerged from the interviews)

-Relativist/Constructionist/Constructivist: No objective world, but everything has meanings
attached to them and is socially constructed

Epistemology
-Positivism: The world can be objectively explained by researchers
-Interpretivism: We can only understand how the world is interpreted by social actors
