The right order of the interview
In my opinion I think that I have structured my questions in a sensible order. I have
started my interview by asking questions about the job description and person
specification and about the requirements of the job advertisement. In addition to
that, I have then asked questions about their interests, skills and asked to expand
further more on some questions. I finished my interview by asking the interviewee if
he has any questions.
My observer agreed that the interview was carried out in a logical order because
they said that, “there was a logical progression to the interview beginning with
welcoming the candidates”.
My ability to ask appropriate questions
In my opinion I think that I have asked appropriate questions. I have asked
questions on which I though an interviewee wouldn’t have prepared in order to see
how responsible and suitable the applicant is.
According to my observer, I have asked appropriate questions because they said
that, “All questions asked were appropriate including ‘Can you tell me about the
time when you have delivered fantastic customer service’. They relate to the part
time customers service position at Tesco and to the knowledge skills and aptitudes
of the interviewee e.g. ‘Give me an example of when you have coped with
changes?’
As an interviewee I have also asked appropriate questions which I have prepared in
advance. My observer agreed, because she said that, “his questions about
opportunities for additional work and for progression in the company were
appropriate”.
The quality of my participation
According to my observer the questions were asked in a logical and calm
atmosphere. My interviewer said that, “he was thoughtful and confident through the
interview and demonstrated excellent communication skills.
My communications and listening skills
According to my observer the questions were asked in a logical order. This means
that applicant stayed calm and he was able to answer all questions clearly with a
good response. My interviewer said that, “Yes throughout the interview he listened
carefully to the interviewee’s responses and encourage him to give further details”.
As an interviewee I feel that I used good communication and listening skills. The
reason for that is because I thought that I have answered all questions fully and
included all information. My observer agreed on that because she said that, “Yes, he
focused his answers by referring to the question in his answer and was
communicating well throughout.
