• Consists of pelvic viscera within pelvic cavity
• Pelvic cavity is bounded on five sides
• Osseous (bony) pelvis:
• 2 os coxae (ossa coxarum)

• First coccygeal vertebrae

• PELVIC INLET
 Dorsally – base of sacrum
 Ventrally – pelvic brim
 Laterally – ilio-pectineal line
• PELVIC OUTLET
 Dorsally – sacrum and first three coccygeal
vertebrae
 Ventrally – ischial arch
 Laterally – posterior border of sacro-sciatic
ligament
