Cell is the building unit of the body
Tissue consists of a group of closely associated, similar cells that carry out specific
functions.
Tissues associate to form organs, such as the heart, lung, liver... ,
Groups of tissues and organs form system such as respiratory system, excretory system,
Tissues of the body
The human body is composed of 4 basic types of tissues which are
1) Epithelial tissue
2) Connective tissue
3) Muscular tissue
4) Nervous tissue
These tissues are associated together to form the organs of the body.
1) Epithelial tissue
Epithelial tissue form a continuous layer or sheet covering a body surface or lining a body
cavity
It has a high power of regeneration
It underlined by a basement membrane
It's not penetrated by blood vessels
It's originated by ectoderm , mesoderm , endoderm
It's function :
1) Protection
2) Absorption
3) Excretion
4) Sensation
