Question 1 What serosal cavities have been penetrated by the first arrow? Explain the location, the microscopic cellular components of the serous membrane, and the purpose of the serous membrane. By considering the provided picture, it can be seen that the pleural cavity is the one presented by the First Arrow. A thin membrane that assists in covering the walls of certain organs of the abdominopelvic and thoracic cavities is the serous membrane. The serous membrane is aimed at holding organs in place with respect to their organs, along with allowing movement devoid of causing friction. This is accomplished with the help of a lubricant fluid. Lubricating fluid is discharged by them which minimizes friction from the movement of the muscle in returns (Shidham & Atkinson, 2007).

ANAT 260 Signature Assignment

Question 1

What serosal cavities have been penetrated by the first arrow? Explain the location, the

microscopic cellular components of the serous membrane, and the purpose of the serous

membrane.

By considering the provided picture, it can be seen that the pleural cavity is the one

presented by the First Arrow. A thin membrane that assists in covering the walls of certain

organs of the abdominopelvic and thoracic cavities is the serous membrane. The serous

membrane is aimed at holding organs in place with respect to their organs, along with allowing

movement devoid of causing friction. This is accomplished with the help of a lubricant fluid.

Lubricating fluid is discharged by them which minimizes friction from the movement of the

muscle in returns (Shidham & Atkinson, 2007).

Question 2

Describe the Autonomic Nervous System and explain how the patient’s ANS reacts to the

arrow attack and how it will affect the patient’s vital signs (P, BP, R, T).

It is the responsibility of the autonomic nervous system to control the involuntary

functions of the body. These functions can be the heartbeat and breathing. The heart rate and

blood pressure’s regulations can be affected by autonomic dysfunction. Because of the injury and

arrow attack, there would be a fast or weak pulse, which is normal because of shock.

Furthermore, there would also be a reduction in Blood pressure. There would also be a decrease

in body temperature as the blood is being pushed to major organs. Additionally, there would be

, an increase in the respiratory rate, but the respiratory rate will still shallow (Robertson, Low, &

Polinsky, 2011).

Question 3

Describe the trajectory of the first arrow using directional terms and anatomical planes. 

Identify and describe the organs and any other membranes that may have been affected by

the first arrow.

Along the axial plane, the first arrow’s trajectory will be posterosuperior. The anterior

skin to posterior skin would be the affected organs from anterior to posterior. The vital organs

include the lungs and the heart that are being impacted by the arrow. Since in the neck’s

posterior triangle, there is a second wound, so there would also be an impact on the neck’s

posterior triangle’s contents. Certain contents comprise the supraclavicular lymph nodes,

occipital lymph node, brachial plexus, and spinal accessory nerve.

Question 4

Describe the cardiovascular system and explain how both the pulmonary and systemic

circuits will be affected by both arrows. Include the effect on the Hematocrit and

Hemoglobin values.

The cardiovascular system is composed of vessels and organs’ network that is

accountable for the blood flow, oxygen, hormones, nutrients and several other organs that

interrelate together. The patient’s pulmonary system, in this case, has a circulation path amid the

lungs and heart. It would be hard for the patient to breathe normally if both systems stop

working. Furthermore, the blood cannot return, as oxygen is contingent on blood from the heart’s

right atrium. The right ventricle’s contraction, on the next heartbeat, sends the oxygen-depleted
