exercise was to write a personal skills audit
when I’m like 30 years old. So, I had to write
some bullsh*t but I passed this P. It may help
you a bit.
, Task 2: Describe the main employability, personal and communication
skills required when applying for a specific job role. (P2)
A teacher’s job requires a lot of skills as I can tell from the job description of a BTEC teacher. I made a
personal skills audit for myself to see how many of the requirement I already meet.
A teachers’ qualification in Economics or English. (Expert)
I studied Economics on bachelor level at Hogeschool Utrecht. The whole education was given in
English. I graduated one year ago and got really fantastic grades in all the subjects.
Experience within international organisations. (Proficient)
Before I studied at Hogeschool Utrecht, I studied International Business Studies and (Junior) Account
manager at ROC Midden Nederland on a lower level. During this education and the education on
Hogeschool I had to do many internships and some of them I did abroad. I did my internship at
international organizations like ING, Vodafone and much more. I learned a lot and build so much
experience within this international organisation. But I’m still young and there is always place for
improvement and building more experience. So, when I worked at many or for a longer time at
international organisation, then I can call myself an expert hopefully.
English language skills at Cambridge Advanced English level. (Proficient)
During both education, they gave me lessons with a Cambridge Advanced English level and taught
me to be prepared for the exams. So, I was improving my skills every day. I also got the diploma
which proofs that I have that English level. I did some of my internships abroad and one of them I did
in the United Kingdom at an international organisation. Because of that I improved my English. But I
still want to improve it, so when I can speak really fluent then I will call myself an expert.
Experience and affinity with our students. (Proficient)
I was a BTEC-student at the ROCMN and I know how it was to be a student. It wasn’t easy and I know
how hard it can be. So, I know as a teacher how it feels to be the students who are sitting in front of
me. I’m working at Financial Meltdown and I was once invited by ROCMN to tell something about
what I do as an account manager and about my studies etc. I also gave them some exercises related
to the BTEC-unit they were working. They really like the way I was ‘’teaching’’ and telling my story. I
build a nice affinity and experience with the students. When I become a BTEC-teacher, then I will
build more experience and affinity with the students and then I will be an expert.
Ability to combine theory with day-to-day business practices. (Proficient)
As I already wrote at the beginning, I worked and did my internships at many international
companies. I did a lot of business practices and when I will teach I can combine the theory with the
practices I made. I worked sometimes at the marketing department and I know that there are some
unit which is about marketing. So, I can give some examples which suits with the theory. I also read a
lot business news, so I can be up-to-date with all the changes.
Enthusiastic about helping students from 16 to 25 to achieve the best possible results. (Expert)
I’m really enthusiastic to help the students from 16 to 25 years old to achieve the best possible
results. I also experienced those 3 years having the BTEC-lessons and I passed all the 18 units. I am
willing to give all my energy to help the students, so that they can pass all the units.
