only be recovered with the statistical tools at their disposal. Nurse practitioners need to be able to
calculate medical costs and do other measurements. Observation and patient interviews, and
surveys may be used to collect statistical data and identify various markers (Beck, 1990).
Benefits of Using Statistics
Evidence-based data must be objective for statistical nurses to use in their work. Using
statistics during research is essential for drawing solid conclusions. The nurse leader may gain
useful insight into staff diversity, employee happiness, and more via statistical information
(Kaihlanen et al., 2019). Leaders in the healthcare industry may better make informed decisions
by analyzing key statistics like nurse-patient ratios and staffing levels.
Statistics is employed in the diagnosis of patients. A nurse's assessment of vital signs is
standard practice and guides treatment decisions. Statistics are utilized widely in analyzing and
interpreting research data, which can aid in enhancing evidence-based nursing (Heinen et al.,
2019). A nurse can use statistical tools like run charts and control charts to track and enhance
patient care quality. Nurses may provide better patient care by monitoring vital signs closely and
doing pattern analyses to pinpoint care gaps (Kim et al., 2020).
Analyzing data may be useful in many areas of healthcare, from public health to health
promotion. In collaboration with healthcare institutions, nurses may monitor population data
using statistics, allowing them to assess trends and gauge broad health measures (Choi et al.,
2019). This helps determine the necessity of action and the health effects that may be expected.
