(HBV) ❖ Assessment: malaise, weight loss, N/V, RUQ pain, jaundice, skin, rash, clay colored stools,
dark urine (icteric), dehydration ❖ Complications: Acute liver failure, chronic hep, cirrhosis, cancer ❖
Tests: CT of abdomen, ultrasound of liver/abdomen, Antigen/antibody testing, viral load, liver biopsy,
liver enzymes, bilirubin, ultrasound (decreased calcium) ❖ Labs: alt alp, amylase, bilirubin H&H ❖
Management: Rest nutrition,medications, education - no alcohol, don’t share needles, wash your hands,
etc.
