Hall Effect Sensor
What is Hall Effect Sensor :
A Hall effect sensor is a device that detects changes in magnetic fields. It utilizes the Hall effect,
which is a phenomenon where a voltage difference is generated across a conductor when it is
subjected to a perpendicular magnetic field and an electric current flows through it. Hall effect
sensors are often used to measure position, speed, and proximity in various applications such as
automotive systems, industrial equipment, and electronic devices.
Working principle of Hall Effect Sensor :
The Hall effect sensor works based on the principle of the Hall effect, which states that when a
magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the flow of current in a conductor, a voltage difference is
generated across the sides of the conductor. This voltage is called the Hall voltage and is proportional
to the strength of the magnetic field. Hall effect sensors utilize this phenomenon to detect the
presence, strength, and polarity of magnetic fields. They are commonly used in applications such as
proximity sensing, speed detection, and current sensing.
