What is on the right side of a patient chart? - ANSWERContains medical history,

What are the four most common types of X-rays used in a dental office? -

Intraoral Periapical Aka PA
Bitewings aka BWX or BWs
Intraoral Periapical films aka PA - ANSWERShows one or two teeth up close from the
crown to the apex. Its a detailed view of the tooth and supporting structures.
Bitewing film aka BWX or BWs - ANSWERShows upper and lower molars as the patient
is biting. It allows doctors to see interproximal(between the teeth) spaces. Performed as
part of the FMS or every six months.
Panoramic films aka Pano or Panorex - ANSWERShows the teeth and supporting
structures. Typically used of children under 18 or patients that are partially or fully
edentulous(missing some or all of their teeth). Will show unerupted teeth.
Full Mouth PA Series film aka FMS - ANSWERShows close up films of each tooth in the
mouth from the crown to the apex of each tooth. Consists of 14 PAs and 2 bitewings.
Labeling X-rays - ANSWERMust be labeled with first and last name, offices stamp,
patient account number, date taken, and initials of person who took x-rays
What should every female be verbally asked? - ANSWERIf they are pregnant because
in order to receive a x-ray they need a medical release form.
