1. Global Business Environment
Globalization has been an influence on every aspect of modern life. It can be linked to the
national, regional and the local environment. While many people are not widely travelled, they
purchase an overwhelming number of goods that are manufactured all over the world. The world
is continuing to become a smaller place to be because of globalisation. We are moving from self-
contained countries to a more integrated business world were business are presented with
opportunities and challenges as they grow. In the business environment, the marketing,
production and distribution of goods and services are done on an international scale.
Technological advancements, transport and communication systems have aided in this
environment. The financial and trade regulations have adapted to these changes. In the economy,
it has created extensive changes. The economic markets have expanded. We can be able to buy
and sell faster through foreign exchanges. (Baron et al.,2003) The countries with open borders
can attract opportunities for businesses thus improving their employment and growth rates.
Those nations that protected their companies from external competition often experience a hard
time opening up to economic markets, but their goods and services have the potential to expand
to international standards. Also, Trade barriers have been reduced. This has resulted in more
imports and exports. Eliminating the obstacles is an incentive for businesses growth. Another
change of globalisation is communication. The communication becomes instantaneous. Being
able to communicate from anywhere in the world becomes easy. This paper seeks to discuss the
Global Business environment in-depth analysis of the factors contributing to the Globalization of
business and the challenges faced by the organisations operating in the global environment.
