, INTRODUCTION
• The earth being a spherical does not have corners which would be taken as reference point to
determine location of a place . Hence,we divide the earth 🌎
into grid using a series of vertical and
horizontal imaginary lines and these are used to determine the location of point on Earth’s surface.
• Latitude and longitude are imaginary lines used to determine the location of a place on earth.
• The shape of earth is Geoid.
• Hence, the location of place on the earth can be mentioned in terms of latitude and longitude.
