TEMPERATE CYCLONE
Temperate cyclone is also known as “extratropical cyclones or mid- latitude
cyclones are low” – pressure system that forms in the mid – latitudes [between
30- and 60-degree latitudes]. They’re responsible for much of the weather in
regions. These cyclones are characterized by fronts, such as cold front and
warm front that bring changes in temperature, precipitation, etc.




DISTREIBUTION OF TEMPERATE CYCLONE
1. Temperate cyclones form in the world’s mid – latitude regions.
2. This region is also referred to as extra – tropical [beyond].
3. Temperate cyclones are mostly found between 35- and 65-degree North
and South latitudes.
4. Their traces have been discovered beyond 65-degree latitudes in both
hemispheres.
5. Temperate cyclone can be found practically all year round with some
seasonal changes.
6. They’re more common in the winter since there is a higher temperature
as a result winter is the best time for temperate cyclones to form and
their frequency is also higher.
