Hospice care is centered on enhancing the quality life of patients and also their caregivers experiencing advanced terminal illnesses that are life-threatening. The article will focus on using pain medication to better the quality life and alleviate anguish in the patients under hospice care. The study looks at the use of pain medication and its aims to manage the clinical symptoms to provide a satisfying life for a patient to enjoy the last days with dignity and quality. The study also provides protocols on the available drugs and the proper methods of using the drugs to attain the required satisfactory levels. It is important to understand pain is a primary clinical symptom for patients suffering from terminal illnesses, and they are rightfully entitled to the proper pain management. Patients are suffering from chronic medical conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, cancers, renal failure, and HIV/ AIDS experience severe pains at the various disease stages requiring pain medication. The study will look at the means for proper pain management to reduce hospitalization and better the quality of life. Hospice care is provided through patientcentered approaches to integrated health care services to pay special attention to the patient's needs and individual preferences. The primary role is to improve patients' lives to carry out the day-to-day activities, usually till death. Under the human rights to health, pain management should be geared towards a patient’s wellness either physically, emotionally, and psychologically. The rehabilitation measures cover all the primary health care needs despite that full recovery is not guaranteed to ensure the caretakers help the patients enjoy a soothing life and make them part of the societal projects and developments. The need for hospice care is predicted to be on the rise due to the increased growth of the aging population, a rise in the number of the non - infectious diseases, and mental ailments. The study shows the positive impact of pain medications on promoting wellness and reducing unnecessary health services, which positively reduces terminal illnesses' economic expenditure. According to WHO studies yearly, 40% of the population is approximated to need hospice care, and the medical institution available can provide an estimate of 14% of the primary care required (Currow et al., 2020). The article portrays the urgent need to develop national policies, resources, and training programmed to equip the health care providers with advanced managerial skills and better levels of medical management to incorporate early pain management for better clinical outcomes. The study will also put insight into unnecessary restrictive regulations to promote better pain management to attain pain management levels. Hospice care incorporates all the health care providers, including the physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and the subordinate staff, to cater to all the patient's needs. The article will also highlight the primary challenges of using pain medication in the hospice set up. Medical policy role plays a central role in the paper to ensure the availability of common drugs used in pain management, including opioids, which are commonly used in primary treatment of pain and respiratory distress. This study aims to cooperate with all the WHO protocols in providing hospice care to ensure worldwide disease control. Health care systems cooperate with all the guidelines appropriate in the palliative management of patients.
