something else? - -Yes, pharmacy must:
- file the original with CII files
- make a copy of original Rx for each of the other drugs

a reference to Rx number for CII listed
- if more than one CII on Rx, include on EACH copy reference to serial
number of first CII Rx on the script

-How does the 14 day rule apply to CII prescriptions? - -Pharmacist
cannot fill CII prescription unless it is tendered (received) by the
pharmacy on or before the 14th day of issue

-Can a CII Rx be post-dated? - -No but can write "do not fill before

2. prescription must be received within 14 days of the "do not fill until"

Yes, if doctor specifies for pain; X DEA number not required if used for
pain (if not prescribed for pain, needs X DEA number)

-Can a practitioner write a prescription for himself or for "office use" to
buy drugs from a pharmacy from a pharmacy for administering or
dispensing purposes? - -No; practitioner must send pharmacy an order
that contains at least:
- practitioner's name and address
- classification of practitioner's license
- name, strength, quantity of drug requested
- date of issue
- pharmacy must provide physician with invoice when filling the order
