"Kalokagathia [is]...the highest principle of all human will and action, the ultimate motive which works with its inward necessity, and at the same time the ground for all that happens in nature," says Jaeger (Paideia Vol. 2, 194). When we talk about the highest principles, ultimate motives, and the ground for all that happens in nature, are we always and necessarily talking the religious talk?
