• Def: Puberty refers to physical (physiological and anatomical)
transition from child to adult, that is capable of sexual
reproduction. Usually occurs from 9 to 17 yrs.
• Boy – Man.
• Girl – Woman.
• Adolescent:WHO identifies adolescence as the period in
human growth and development that occurs after childhood
and before adulthood, from ages 10 to19.
• It represents one of the critical transitions.
• psycho-social behavioural trasition to adulthood, it occurs
during puberty.
