Topic 1 DQ 1 – ACC 240 Specify your major and identify your career plans. Explain how accounting might help you in your career if you are not planning to be an accountant. What information provided in financial reports would help you in your business? After completing my degree, I hope to continue to work in the customer service industry. Accounting will be beneficial in my field of study because it is one of the main components of a business. Additionally, without this field, a company will not know how to keep track of its income, expenditures and other financial affairs. Furthermore, as a Rooms Division Director, it is my duty to keep track of the financial status of the hotel and I can do this by working with the financial reports. These reports will help me plan on room pricing policies to increase or maximize sales or revenues. Accounting is vital to the success of a business.
