competencies will always increase. Be mindful of barriers and challenges as you reflect on
this topic. As you progress in this course, in the program, and beyond, how might you
expect your competencies to evolve? Provide a brief response (100 words or less).
As I progress throughout this course and program, I expect my competencies to evolve
even more compared to my experiences prior to enrollment in this program with the goal of
acquiring more knowledge and developing a better understanding of nursing informatics. As a
Registered Nurse (RN), I am presented with the opportunity to learn something new each shift,
while simultaneously having the opportunity to further improve in my nursing skills, familiarize
myself with modern technology and more. Nursing informatics is essential for clinicians like
nurse practitioners because modern technology influences nursing practices, and similar to the
nursing profession, technology is also continuously evolving. The use of modern technology
provides nurse practitioners with unlimited scholarly resources with current evidence-based
practices that are utilized to provide patients with the highest quality of care and improve current
practices. As I learn more about nursing informatics and how it can be applied in my current
practice as an RN, it will build my confidence in managing and communicating data and
information, improve my competency in using other programs for charting and documenting
patient information, improving time management, and it will keep me organized in addition to
