.. -Ever notice how when justifying a child's misbehavior no one ever says stuff like "girls will be girls" or "she's a girl," but the list of things a "young lady" can't do is almost endless? You learn from a young age that masculinity comes with freedom; femininity comes with restrictions. ... -I think a lot of people have trouble understanding transgender issues because they try to see themselves as trans, but come at it from the wrong direction. - i.e. cis woman tries to understand transness by going, "what if I felt like/wanted to be a man" - when she should be approaching it as "what if I, a woman, was so easily mistaken for a man that I had to pretend to be one." And I think this is something to keep in mind and to explain away when trying to get these matters across to people who're new to the idea. heteronormativity -"Heteronormativity" is the belief that people fall into distinct and complementary genders (man and woman) with natural roles in life. It asserts that heterosexuality is the only sexual orientation or only norm, and states that sexual and marital relations are most (or only) fitting between people of opposite sexes. Consequently, a "heteronormative" view is one that involves alignment of biological sex, sexuality, gender identity and gender roles. Heteronormativity is often linked to heterosexism and homophobia. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, "We Should All Be Feminists" -"Some people ask: 'Why the word feminist? Why not just say you are a believer in human rights, or something like that?' Because that would be dishonest. Feminism is, of course, part of human rights in general--but to choose to use the vague expression human rights is to deny the specific and particular problem of gender. It would be a way of pretending that it is not women who have, for centuries, been excluded. It would be a way of denying that the problem of gender targets women." ... -I hate that "LOL SO IF WOMEN ARE EQUAL CAN I PUNCH YOU" shit because 1 in 3 women are abused. Y'all are already punching us. The issue is that we'd like you to stop.

Feminism 6 100% PASSED
... -✔✔✔Ever notice how when justifying a child's misbehavior no one ever says stuff like "girls will be
girls" or "she's a girl," but the list of things a "young lady" can't do is almost endless?

You learn from a young age that masculinity comes with freedom; femininity comes with restrictions.

... -✔✔✔I think a lot of people have trouble understanding transgender issues because they try to see
themselves as trans, but come at it from the wrong direction. - i.e. cis woman tries to understand
transness by going, "what if I felt like/wanted to be a man" - when she should be approaching it as
"what if I, a woman, was so easily mistaken for a man that I had to pretend to be one."

And I think this is something to keep in mind and to explain away when trying to get these matters
across to people who're new to the idea.

heteronormativity -✔✔✔"Heteronormativity" is the belief that people fall into distinct and
complementary genders (man and woman) with natural roles in life. It asserts that heterosexuality is the
only sexual orientation or only norm, and states that sexual and marital relations are most (or only)
fitting between people of opposite sexes. Consequently, a "heteronormative" view is one that involves
alignment of biological sex, sexuality, gender identity and gender roles. Heteronormativity is often
linked to heterosexism and homophobia.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, "We Should All Be Feminists" -✔✔✔"Some people ask: 'Why the word
feminist? Why not just say you are a believer in human rights, or something like that?' Because that
would be dishonest. Feminism is, of course, part of human rights in general--but to choose to use the
vague expression human rights is to deny the specific and particular problem of gender. It would be a
way of pretending that it is not women who have, for centuries, been excluded. It would be a way of
denying that the problem of gender targets women."

... -✔✔✔I hate that "LOL SO IF WOMEN ARE EQUAL CAN I PUNCH YOU" shit because 1 in 3 women are
abused.

Y'all are already punching us.

The issue is that we'd like you to stop.

, "It's just a phase" - (response) -✔✔✔I mean, the moon has phases but it's still literally always the
moon. Just because the moon's doing something different today doesn't mean it was lying about being
the moon yesterday.

... -✔✔✔"women are so impossible to understand" maybe because you:

1. Refuse to see them as multifaceted people

2. Willfully interpret kindness as sexual willingness

3. Willfully ignore displays of disinterest and discomfort

... -✔✔✔I hate when men smirk and gloat and say shit like, "Women are attracted to powerful men,"
like that negates any feminist impulse. Like they think that at the heart of all women is this little,
mincing girl that wants to be dominated.

I just roll my eyes because, DUDE. If you ever read the second half of any ****ing harlequin novel ever,
and saw how the hero always ends up blubbering on his knees and saying shit like "I can't live without
you! You unman me!" you'd realize that being attracted to powerful men is just the first step of a 2-step
plan.

The second step is to completely ****ing annihilate him.

... -✔✔✔I'm actually concerned for boys who complain about how different girls look without makeup.
Did you really think eye-shadow permanently alters a girl's eyelid? Are you frightened when people
change clothes?

- Babies have no concept of object permanence.

ATTENTION MALE NERDS -✔✔✔You are not suffering from a shortage of female nerds! There are vast
numbers of us, and we rarely have a hard time finding each other! You are without female company
because you are whiney ass babies who think you own things because you like them, and because you
somehow think you suffer from bullying whereas girl nerds somehow never do! Stop pretending you get
to be ******** because you have a "tragic past" or you will die alone! If you think girl nerds don't get
bullied it's likely because those girls don't want to talk to you, because of this sort of attitude!
