Red Lobster Case Study
Targeted recruitment process
A targeted recruitment strategy is a plan directed to attract candidates with specific experience,
skills, personality traits, and knowledge (Teigeler, 2021). It is an effective method to find
employees that are capable and passionate about their role and that add value to the company.
Consequently, it requires more planning and preparation to achieve the right employees that the
organization needs.
Targeted recruitment is a preferred strategy when the company is looking for competent
employees in a particular discipline, increasing the number and quality of applicants, enhancing
the diversity of staff, and reducing cost per hire (Teigeler, 2021). The Red Lobster is looking for
competent restaurant managers that adapt to the new restaurant image, culture, and attitude.
Based on the job description prepared in the previous week a target recruitment strategy will be
developed. The targeted recruitment strategy involves seven steps including conducting the right
search, building candidate personas, setting goals, formulating a plan, building the right message
to candidates, delivering the specific information, and using niche job boards (TestGorilla,
2022).
The goal will be to convey the passion, creativity, and engagement that are needed from each
recruit selected for the position. The recruits should understand the restaurant's new strategy that
focuses on providing more quality service at mid-range prices. It needs to attract diverse groups
of people that have the necessary skills.
To increase visibility, we will use all the social media outlets of the Red Lobster like Facebook,
Instagram, and Twitter. Furthermore, the advertisement will use local printed and TV mediums
to attract local talent that may not be active on social media. This will enhance the vacancy
exposure and bring diverse groups.
