When using the internet and other networks users must always be aware of the threats that can
arise that could damage or steal the data we keep on our computers.
Accidental threats – not planned, not
intentional. Might occur due to natural
disasters, e.g., flooding, fire. Could also
accidentally delete a file. Can also occur
due to carelessness, e.g., throwing a drink
on your computer.
Malicious threats – Malware (Malicious
software), they are intentional and
planned.
These are small programs that are designed to attach computer systems.
These attacks might be to cause your computer system not to work properly, damage the data being
stored on your system or steal data for personal gain.
Intended to steal data from your data/corrupt data on a computer.
