Read A Case Study of Project and Stakeholder Management Failures: Lessons Learned
and based on the LAMP-H project background perform the following tasks: Identify the
project stakeholders before the implementation of the Program Executive Officer.
The U.S. Army launched the LAMP-H project to acquire crafts with the capability of moving
over land and water (Sutterfield et al., 2015). Furthermore, these crafts should be able to lift and
carry necessary supplies for the troops to support their ground attacks. Hence, these crafts should
meet a few requirements related to payload and speed. These requirements should be identified,
quantified, and agreed upon before making any decision.
However, the issues with the LAMP-H project started here. There are numerous stakeholders in
the LAMP-H project and each of them has demanded a specific payload and speed to be met.
Additionally, these stakeholders vary on how the LAMP-H should be powered, the payload
capacity, the number of LAMP-H units to buy, and even the unit price of each craft.
A stakeholder is a party that has an interest in a company and can either affect or be affected by
the business (Fernando, 2021). Because of their vested interest, these stakeholders want to
participate in the decision-making process. However, a project needs specific and measurable
objectives, specifications, methodologies, and budget. The stakeholders for this project include
the Department of Defense, Army Material Command department, Troop Support Command
department, Watercraft PM, Ft Belvoir R&D Center manager, Transportation School, Training &
Doctrine Command department, Test & Evaluation Command manager, and other officers
associated or affected by this project.
Perform an analysis of the stakeholders’ influence including at least potential for threat,
the potential for cooperation and strategy adopted.
