Artificial Intelligence in the US Military
Artificial Intelligence, or well-referred to as AI, has been setting a new trend within
contemporary society, especially on the basis of advancement in technology. It is defined as
being the field within computer science that emphasizes the creation and development of
machine intelligence that undertakes tasks and behaves in the manner that human beings do
(Jensen, Christopher, and Scott 526). The contemporary society has witnessed technology
upsurges that they constantly instigative changes and developments in the overall perspective,
domains, as well as the development processes around the globe. Although there was
development across nations, cities, and people in the past decades, there has been an increased
rate of development since the Artificial Intelligence introduction. The creation of robots, which
was first introduced to the public by the Rossum’s University Robots play in 1920 by Karel
Capek who was a Czech writer, presents another perspective of humans who are synthetically
created (“Do We Want Robot Warriors to Decide Who Lives or Dies?”). As a result,
contemporary society, especially nations that feel the entitlement of being the world
superpowers, have turned their attention to the matter of Artificial Intelligence. This has been
undertaken with the sole reason of trying to be the best regarding the advancement in
technological advances. As a result, the American nation is among the superpowers nations and

has not been left behind regarding the use of AI. The ability to be a superpower based on military
dominance, prowess as well as ability to remain at the top regarding the various advances and
innovations will give them a competitive advantage above their rivals. As a result, society has
been stroked by the various advancement of fiction into reality, especially what they have been
experiencing in the world of film. With the likes of Terminator, Transformers, and The Matrix,
the world f Hollywood has been vital in turning these into the reality that we experience in
society (“Do We Want Robot Warriors to Decide Who Lives or Dies?”). This research paper
focuses on Artificial Intelligence in the American military and its impact on its functionality.
American military use of automized or autonomous AI-powered weapons is dangerous and
should not be initiated without human intervention.
The United States military is taken to be one of the best and outstanding combat armies
around the world, and its significance as being associated with the superpower nation. The glory
and the greatness in the contemporary twenty-first century do not come without the inherent
input from the advancement in technology and integration of the various developments that are
affiliated to reducing human involvement in military operations. Evidently, there has been the
integration and involvement of significant advances within Artificial Intelligence and robotics,
which has led to the increased creation of more advanced weaponry and systems that can be used
in times of war. As it has been witnessed in the American military, the use of combat drones and
ground robots has been on the rise regarding its deployment, as witnessed in the most current
warfare in Afghanistan and Iraq (“Do We Want Robot Warriors to Decide Who Lives or Dies?”).
With America being one of the most powerful and advanced militaries in the world, they have
been able to develop even more sophisticated and intelligent weaponries, which have a diverse
degree on the basis of lethality and autonomy. The magnetic element in Artificial Intelligence
