The health condition is a significant public health concern that potentially leads to poor
health outcomes among children. The health condition is associated with various factors,
including genetic, environmental, and behavioral factors. Dietary practices, physical activity,
genetics, environment, and socio-economic factors are the key contributors to obesity among
children. The selection of childhood obesity as the focus of this project is driven by the pressing
need to address its root causes and implement adequate preventive measures. The health
condition is linked to detrimental health impacts and increases the risk of development of type 2
diabetes, heart diseases, bone and joint disorders, and respiratory issues. The condition is also
linked to psychological health effects, including low self-esteem and depression. As a healthcare
professional, the relevance of this problem to my practice is evident in the increasing prevalence
of childhood obesity and its associated health risks. I have encountered childhood obesity in both
healthcare settings and the community, and it has been a critical concern that should be
addressed effectively. As a healthcare provider, I consider addressing the root causes of
childhood obesity and implementing comprehensive strategies essential to solving the issue.
