1. Define: nerve, endoneurium, perineurium, epineurium,
epineurium, ganglia.
Nerve- cordlike organ that is part of the peripheral nervous system. Nerves
are classified as cranial or spinal depending on whether they arise from the
brain or spinal cord.
Endoneurium- axon surrounded by (end.), a delicate layer of loose connective
tissue that also encloses the fibers associated Schwann cells.
Perineurium- coarser connective tissue wrapping, the (per.) binds groups of
axons in to bundles called fascicles.
Epineurium- tough fibrous sheath, the (eqi.), encloses all the fascicles to form
the nerve.
Ganglia- collections of the neuron cells bodies associated with nerves in the
PNS, whereas nuclei are collections of the neuron cell bodies in the CNS.
2. Describe which nerves can regenerate.
peripheral nervous system, also known as (PNS) axons can regenerate,
allowing recovery of function after peripheral nerve damage.



3. Give the names and functions for each of the cranial
nerves. Olfactory- sensory (sense of smell)
